Mission Without Limits: Love for Chihuahua

With the objective of sharing the message of love, faith, and the compassion of Jesus, “Mission without Limits: Love for Chihuahua” was held August 7-13, 2023. The North District of Mexico sent 32 volunteers to impact two sectors of the city of Chihuahua: the Los Alamos I subdivision and the Villa Juárez colony.

Team members were involved in a multitude of activities, including:

• Cleaning up public areas
• Prayer walks
• Cleaning and painting the inside and outside of the Los Alamos I church building
• Painting the goals on the soccer field
• Creative evangelism
• Love for the elderly (a time of physical care, facials, hand painting, haircuts, games, songs, refreshments, and devotional reflection with 15 older adults)
• Vacation Bible School with 40 children and the theme: “Activate your Faith.”
• Soccer tournament with more than 30 teenagers
• Caravan of Hope (prayer, evangelism, and invitations to the other activities)
• Caravan of Health (50 people received medical attention, tetanus vaccines, HIV, Syphilis, Glucose, Blood Pressure, Triglycerides, Cholesterol tests as well as free medications)
• Free haircuts for 40 children and adults
• Delivery of food and cleaning supplies to three families

We ended the week with a gathering of thanksgiving and worship. It was a beautiful time of ministry and learning the word, led by pastor Guadalupe Marroquin. We rejoice because five people received the Lord in that service!

We are sure that this activity left traces of love, faith, and hope in both communities. In fact, we left the event with dozens of contacts from the two neighborhoods. A great number shared their phone numbers or addresses, and we are praying for them and following up. Some have already responded, and we have begun to visit and disciple many.

We thank the Lord! He has surprised us with so many signs of love for us, for Chihuahua and above all by showing us that his plans for this city are full of mercy and grace.
