From April 29 through May 1, 2023, the latest Cross-Cultural Orientation (CCO) was held in Rancho Arriba, Dominican Republic. 27 participants were present, representing the five districts of the country, and also Guatemala and Panama.
“For me the CCO was a great experience where the Lord spoke to my life. I feel that he confirmed my call to go and make disciples like him in all nations. It was so easy for me to adapt to another culture and meet these young people and adults who have the same desire that I have to serve our God.” –José Ameth, Panama West District
Each CCO allows us to see the need for workers for the harvest and, more than a three-day camp, the event has become for many their way to hear God’s voice and answer a call to missions. Participants are always challenged to continue to become involved in service opportunities in their districts and explore other cross-cultural service opportunities, as well as strengthen their knowledge and leadership as they prepare for missions work.
The organizer of the event, Wendy Carolina Rivera, expressed the following: “I am overjoyed to see that each participant left the CCO with renewed strength and with the desire to serve our Lord Jesus. We continue plowing the ground so that the seeds God has planted in every heart would bear fruit and increase every day.”
We are confident that after this time the lives of the participants will take another turn, and in a few years, we will see a new generation of men and women responding with great joy and commitment by saying: Here am I; send me!
