South District of Nicaragua Carries Out Maximum Mission

From April 29 to 30, 2023, the ministries of Nazarene Missions International (NMI) and Missions Mobilization carried out a Maximum Mission in the South District of Nicaragua. This was the first such event ever held in San Juan, where the Church of the Nazarene is growing considerably.

26 children, youth, and adults impacted the community through three main areas of evangelism: children’s activities, sports with youth, and house-to-house evangelism.

The activity began with an orientation on the work to be done and a short training on the strategies and methods that would be used to share the gospel. The participants prayerfully observed as they toured the community, and invitations to the many activities were distributed. The next day they visited homes, ministered to children, and organized sports competitions.

It was a time of great blessing and impact, since many of the participants were new and it was their first evangelistic experience. By the end of the week, everyone was amazed to see how God had used each person, from the oldest to the youngest (like Mateo, a 4-year-old boy who presented the gospel to other children). God used every willing heart and every detail of this event to reach people in the community.

The team of leaders thanks God for the fruit obtained from this Maximum Mission: 12 teens and 1 adult received Jesus, 5 adults who had strayed from their faith were reconciled with the Lord, and the seeds of the Word of God were sown in the hearts of many children. When evaluating the event, all the participants shared that they felt very useful and encouraged to continue participating in future evangelistic and missionary activities.

One of the participants, Mayte Yubank, shared the following testimony: “We had an exceptional experience in this Maximum Mission. People responded to the call. It was so emotional to evangelize and share the word of God with the community.

The church that is growing in that place has some very friendly pastors. Pastora Idealda is a blessing to the community. I was very moved by the passion of another council leader, Pastor Mauricio Gutiérrez, who inspired us to follow his example as he worked wonderfully among the kids in the community.

I also enjoyed as a mother seeing my children involved in the work of the Lord. I am very grateful to my God, since I am sure that we are living in his will. At the end of these two days of service we left very encouraged and challenged to continue in this important work as missionaries of Christ in our country and in the world”.
