Central Guatemala Impacted through Mission Without Limits

By: Alisson González, Missions Mobilization Coordinator, Central Guatemala

From July 19 to 23, 2023, we had the joy of carrying out a “Mission Without Limits” for the first time in our Central District of Guatemala. 14 missionaries from the Church of the Nazarene in Grandview, Washington, USA, 40 participants from the different districts of Guatemala, and around 20 brothers and sisters from the local church collaborated in the activity.

Many families in the community of Pueblo Nuevo, Acatenango are dedicated to planting various crops, so part of the ministry involved giving them corn, coffee plants, and avocado trees. The neighbors were happy and testified that they would begin planting on their land very soon.

During the week, we helped in the construction of the pastoral house in Pueblo Nuevo, and we are waiting for its completion so we can see the pastoral family move in.

Additionally, we evangelized at events that attracted more than 200 children. We spoke with them about taking care of our bodies and personal hygiene. A medical team served in general medicine and dental care. As they did so, we were notified of a serious issue with the teeth of a member of the church. An operation was subsequently performed, with successful results. We thank the medical team for putting not only their talents but their resources at the service of this community.

Perhaps the most energetic activities were a very pleasant time with young people bringing them a message of salvation through sports, and a cross-cultural night, taking advantage of so much diversity present. There we experienced a prelude to that glorious moment where all countries and cultures will be gathered to worship God.

Through Mission Without Limits, it was incredible to see how different cultures and countries came together in one spirit to show that God makes our impossible possible. In each project carried out by Missions Mobilization in our district, we have felt God’s support. We have witnessed how God provides where there is nothing and has constantly sent the right people to carry out all the enormous tasks.

With much gratitude in our hearts, we returned to our homes at the end of the week, knowing that what the Lord did in Mission Without Limits changed hearts and confirmed his call in our lives.
