Maximum Mission Rebuilds the Community of Yuma, Dominican Republic

From March 25 to 27, 2022, approximately 30 young people from the Dominican Republic mobilized in support of the Eastern District during its Maximum Mission REBUILD, in which they ministered in areas of compassion, evangelism, fellowship and service in different communities within the city of San Rafael de Yuma.

The district leaders, together with coordinator Felicia Noel, worked hard to impact that city, embracing the words of the prophet in Isaiah 61:4 – “They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.”

Participant Beatriz German expressed: “Maximum Mission is a time to rediscover yourself. It’s also the most beautiful way to bring hope and joy to the faces of people we do not know and make them see that there is a God who answers! I understood in the Yuma Maximum Mission that many times what has no importance or meaning for some is what others consider necessary for their happiness.”

The volunteers and the host church ended this time full of joy for the work done. Revival was evident in the lives of people in the community who saw the church in action, and some expressed a desire to visit.

Another participant, Angel Manuel Duson, shared: “A smile that you get from a child is worth a lot. We see some things as simple, but through time, and after interacting with different people, you realize that nothing is as simple as we see it today. When I get involved in short-term mission trips like these, I see a group of people willing to help others and tell them that there is a God who watches over them. God is real and we shouldn’t be ashamed to say so.”
